Thirsty patrons ready to splash out at pubs

-

Personal finance experts at money.co.uk have calculated exactly how much the average UK adult will spend on their first trip to the pub post lockdown.

Nearly a quarter (23%) of over-18s are planning to hit the pub within the first six days of restrictions being lifted.

That tantalising first visit post-lockdown will see them splash out on up to 13 pints of beer or six bottles of wine each, according to the research.

Those planning to hit the pub in the first three days (16%) are anticipating spending £52.48 each.

Older generations, it seems, are more cautious, with only 15% of 35-44s heading to the pub on day one. On average, they will spend £48.50 on their first trip, which drops to £35.13 for 45-54 and £22.86 for over-55s.

Scottish pubs can reopen outdoors, with restrictions, from April 26. English pubs can start serving customers outdoors from today.
