Cheers to Lidl’s new range of Scottish craft beers

New ales are inspired by our stunning scenery

IT’S the news craft beer fans have been waiting for – Lidl have launched their own exclusive range in partnership with one of Scotland’s best-known independent breweries.

Lidl’s Scottish Craft beer range, Beinn Brewing, has been developed in partnership with long-standing supplier, Stewart Brewing.

Crafted in homage to Scotland’s scenic landscape, the Beinn Brewing range consists of three flavourful craft ales that are perfect for spring-time sipping. The bold and bright beers – including Citrus Belter, Tropical Trossachs and Beinn Hazy – are on Lidl shelves across Scotland and have already been given the thumbs-up by craft beer aficionados.

Offering customers the chance to savour a flavour of Scotland,

the ales will form part of Lidl’s core range and will be stocked exclusively across its 109 Scottish stores. And with prices at just £1.59, these beers are accessible to everyone.

Craft beers are created by independent, and traditional breweries around the country who specialise in innovation, interesting tastes, and small batches.

“The beers are inspired by Scotland’s breathtaking landscape and terrain,” says Craig Scotland, head brewer at Stewart Brewing.

“Each beer is adventurous and out there, while also being approachable and easy drinking.”

The collaboration with Lidl is the latest step for the company that was set up after a visit to Boston in the USA in 1996 sparked the idea of owners Steve and Jo Stewart to own their own craft brewery one day.

Nearly 18 years old and still going strong, their motto is to keep it simple: Brew great beer, be good people and enjoy life. Fast forward to

2004, after years perfecting home brews, the first official Stewart Brewing beers were launched.

“Jumping to the present, we are now working from our custom-built brewery space in Loanhead, Midlothian, where we have a team of about 50 helping to create a vast range of beers and deliver our customer experiences,” adds Craig.

Lidl has long been committed to working with local suppliers.

Social responsibility and sustainability are at the core of the company’s daily operations, and the retailer places a strong

emphasis on its responsibility for people, society, and the environment.

Paul McQuade, head of buying for spirits, beer and Scotland for

Lidl GB, said: “Stewart Brewing is a long-standing Lidl supplier and we’re delighted to further cement our relationship with this permanent new beer range inspired by the breathtaking terrain of Scotland.

“At Lidl, we’re committed to bringing Scottish craft beer to consumers at great-value prices and the Beinn Brewing range has

been crafted to offer just that.”
