KELTY GET JAMBOS BOOST TO LINE-UP

-

Kelty Hearts have bolstered their squad ahead of their trip to Clyde with the loan signing of Hearts youngster Scott McGill.

The 20-year-old heads to New Central Park on a seasonlong loan from the Tynecastle club and will go into John Potter’s squad as they look to bounce back from their opening two defeats to Alloa and Edinburgh.

McGill, who has come all the way through the Jambos youth ranks, made 42 appearances during his loan stint with League One side Airdrie last season as the Diamonds reached the play-off final.

The central midfielder scored five goals during that spell and was on target for the Hearts B team during the week as they were edged out 3-2 by Highland League side Buckie Thistle in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

● East Fife have been hit with a triple injury blow ahead of their trip to Albion Rovers.

The Fifers went down 3-0 at home to newly promoted Bonnyrigg Rose last weekend, a game that also saw striker Scott Shepherd and midfielder Brogan Walls pick up knocks that will rule them out of the Cliftonhill clash.

Forward Shepherd picked up a head knock in the first half that saw him forced off, while Walls suffered an ankle injury in the lead-up to the awarding of the penalty from which Bonnyrigg took the lead.

Fellow striker Alan Trouten is not yet ready to return. The trio join Scott Gallacher and Connor McManus as the pair continue to be longer term injury absentees for the Bayview side.

● Cowdenbeath have been boosted ahead of this afternoon’s clash at home to Dalbeattie Star with the addition of keeper Jack Ruddy and striker Sean Slaven. Ruddy, 24, has been capped at U19, U20 and U21 level for Scotland while striker Slaven, 21, has been signed after impressing as a trialist in Cowden’s last three games.
