Shock for owner as attempted break-in shatters shop door

A.irNcaldy Eusiness owner has spoNen of her shocN and frustratio­n after rocNs and a EricN were used to EreaN into her gift shop.

-oanne 'rysdale arrived at her 7histle ,sland *ift 6hop and &andle 6tudio on 6t &lair 6treet shortly after 8am yesterday to find the entrance strewn with glass.

An attempted EreaN in had resulted in a glass panel Eeing destroyed with rocNs and a EricN, which had Eeen left at the scene.

,t is thought the attacN occurred after 8pm on :ednesday.

6he told 7he &ourier the e[tent of the damage suggests someone was trying to gain entry to the Eusiness Eut may have Eeen disturEed.

-oanne, who launched the Eusiness, which specialise­s in home fragrance products and gifts, two years ago said it was the first time the shop has suffered damage.

k2ther shop owners have informed me that similar damage has Eeen caused to other properties in the past.

k2ne of the neighEouri­ng Eusinesses said they had maintenanc­e men worNing until 8pm and all was fine until then.

k7herefore the attempt to EreaN in must have happened later that night or in the early hours.”

-oanne is now appealing for anyone who may have Eeen in the area on :ednesday evening and saw anyone acting suspicious­ly to come forward, adding k, ve also informed the police of the incident.”
