The latest beneficiary was Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club, that has just received a £750 donation, while previous groups include Inverkeithing United FC, Dunfermline Tennis Club, and Studio 11 Dance Club – all of which received £750.

Carnegie Dojo raised £3,000 through a joint charity night held at Dhoom with a donation from the restaurant.

Chef and proprietor Prasad Dhaneswhar said: “We love to give back to the local community here at Dhoom. During Covid we donated more than 500 free meals to front line workers, and it’s all gone on from there.

“We’re now in a position to support a different organisation each month. We’re trying to cover a mix of activities and age groups, so that as many different types of activities are covered as possible.

“We are very proud to have donated well over £4,000 in the past few months.

“We know that this money will really help each and every organisation. We will do our best to keep this going on a rolling basis.

“I’d like to thank our customers, as we couldn’t do it without their support, ensuring that Dhoom is as busy as possible, especially at weekends.”

DJ Dejesh, who has been president of the Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club since 2022, said: “We very much appreciate the sponsorship from Dhoom, which is one of Dunfermline’s – and Fife’s – most successful brands.

“The money will go towards continuing to develop the game in the East of Scotland, as well as costs associated with looking after our ground.

“We have members aged from six to 60 at this club, which has a 167-year history.

“Currently playing in the East of Scotland Cricket Association League, we are hoping for a good season. “We look forward to continuing the relationship with Dhoom.”

Michael Russell, head coach at Dunfermline Tennis Club, said: “While asking for very little in return, Dhoom has been extremely kind and generous with its donation, which we will use for our community programme, and for competitions.

“They want to help us to achieve our ambitions for the club and the community in the future.

“This money will help to give us the ability to expand both projects and bring in more people on board to help grow the participation at the tennis club.”

Dhoom will soon launch its latest taster menu celebrating the street food of Chennai, a city on India’s south coast.
