NEWTYLE. Evelyn Stirton presided and congratulated members on their success at the federation show. Members enjoyed wet felting with Rona Nicholson, Angus Federation chairwoman. AUCHTERHOUSE. Members held their 99th birthday meal at The Tavern, Ardler. Liff and Fowlis won the Laburn Cup quiz night hosted by Auchterhouse, with quiz master David Kirby. Members crafted poppies for the Muirhead Church Poppy Appeal for Remembrance Day. Competitions: tea loaf – 1 Mari Brown, 2 Mari Milne, 3 Dee Pearce; poem – Dee Pearce; flower of the month – 1 Elizabeth Denyer, 2 Mari Brown.
KIRRIEMUIR. Chris Horrocks presided. Pat Paterson introduced Irena Strasinska-Lobban from Kirriemuir Regeneration Group who gave a talk. Chris Horrocks proposed thanks. Competitions: spring flower arrangement – 1 Charlotte Brown, 2 Marjorie Lumsden, 3 Chris Horrocks; flower of the month – 1 Marie Strange, 2 Chris Horrocks and Anne Morrall, 3 Ruth Fraser and Charlotte Brown. The next meeting on May 15 is the AGM and a games afternoon. The competition is a poem.

CARNBEE. Vicepresident Diana welcomed Cameron members to an interinstitute meeting. Cameron members Jacky Smith, Anne Brown and Ann Morrison entertained with cookery demonstrations and a quiz. GLENFARG. President Linda Martin welcomed speakers from Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, Ian Lindsay and Libby Rodger. Members presented a cheque to SCAA for £380, raised from the raffle of a patchwork quilt made by several members. The winner of the quilt was Vivienne Hebblethwaite. Linda Martin proposed thanks. Linda Martin won the Catherine Fairweather Quaich for the best sewn bib apron.
