● Dundee and District Philatelic Society’s AGM opened with a one minute silence for two members who died recently – Sandra Campbell and Dimitrios Kouletakis.

Norman Kelso was elected president, Brian McQueen as vice chairman, Lynn Podger as secretary, David Millar as treasurer, David Easson as packet secretary and librarian, Francis Podger as ASPS representa­tive, Colin Campbell as publicity officer and Stephen Kennedy as webmaster. Marjorie Kennedy and Richard Griffiths were elected as committee members. The new season will start on September 26 at 7.30pm in the Art Society Gallery, 17 Roseangle, Dundee, DD14LP. ● The Dundee Branch of the NHS Retirement Fellowship will hold its AGM on Thursday at 2pm in the Congregati­onal Church Hall, Nicol Street, Dundee.

There will be the usual cake and candy and tombola stalls thereafter. This will be the final meeting of this season.

● The next meeting of the Montrose Accordian and Fiddle Club is on Wednesday at the Park Hotel from 7.30-10.30pm.

The guest band is George Rennie Duo. Those who play an instrument are welcome to play a couple of sets.

● Friends of Wighton is hosting its Mayday concert at 1.15pm on Wednesday. Lesley Ann McLuckie will sing contempora­ry and traditiona­l songs. Admission is free. Donations are welcome.

On Friday May 10 at 2pm, singer and concertina player Steve Turner will give a concert. A Cappuccino Concert will be held on May 18 from 11am-12pm. Admission is £5. Tea or coffee is available for a donation.
