-

HUNDREDS OF tickets are still available for this Saturday’s derby between C ow d e n b e a t h and Dunfermline at Central Park, writes Craig Smith.

Club officials reckoned there were around 300 home tickets still available yesterday morning, but hopes are high that these will be snapped up before the weekend fixture which will see the Second Division flag unfurled before kick-off.

Special spectator arrangements for the allticket league opener are in place and the ground will be segregated, with Cowdenbeath fans to enter via the High Street turnstiles and Dunfermline fans to enter by the Chapel Street turnstiles.

Cowdenbeath supporters will occupy the whole of the new stand together with 400 seats in the old stand, while the visitors will occupy 300 seats in the old stand along with all terracing areas.

Tickets priced £15 for adults and £8 from concessions are expected to be available for the rest of the week, with home fans able to buy briefs from Central Park and away fans able to pick up their tickets from East End Park.

Cowdenbeath have injury worries surrounding four key players ahead of the match.

Cowden manager Colin Cameron was last night checking on the fitness of full backs David Cowan (hamstring) and Kenny Adamson (groin) as well as midf ielders Marc McKenzie and Jamie Stevenson who picked up knocks against Montrose last Saturday.

The Central Park boss was hoping they would come through last night’s training session especially as he already has midfielders Ruben Garcia Rey and Liam Cusack ruled out with knee injuries.

Meanwhile, the Pars have confirmed that new signing Craig Dargo will fulfil a dual purpose role at the club by helping to coach the U20 side.

The 34-year-old former Raith and Kilmarnock man will assist John Potter with the younger members of the team, stepping into Potter’s role when required.
