Sessions make a meal of healthy eating for families

-

FAMILIES WITH young children are to be offered support and advice on healthy eating at two events in Perth.

Weaning and healthy mealtimes will be at the top of the agenda at the free sessions, which have been organised by the Family Food Project.

The events are aimed at the whole family, including grandparents, brothers and sisters, and friends.

The Weaning Party takes place on Tuesday and will provide parents and families of babies aged under 12 months with up- to- date and practical information on weaning.

It gives an opportunity to ask questions, meet other parents, and talk about foods and the different baby products available in an informal setting.

The following week, on Tuesday September 11, there will be a Mini Meals event for families with children aged two and over.

Experience has shown that by the age of two many toddlers already dictate their food preferences and mealtimes can be very difficult for their parents and families.

The Mini Meals event is intended as a fun, hands-on food session which will provide tips to tempt fussy eaters and ideas for quick and easy meals.

Both events take place in Live Active Letham, Tweedsmuir Road, Perth, from 10 to 11.30am.

To book a place, contact the Family Food Project on 01738 473507.
