Carroll heads to West Ham on loan

-

LIVERPOOL AND England striker Andy Carroll has joined West Ham on a season-long loan.

Carroll’s position at Anfield has been the subject of considerable speculation since new manager Brendan Rodgers took charge earlier in the summer.

The 23-year-old had also been linked with a return to former club Newcastle but the Hammers have now acquired his services for the 2012-13 season.

QPR are meanwhile set to seal an ambitious swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero.

The Spanish champions have accepted an undisclosed fee for the 25-yearold, who will move to Loftus Road subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

Champions Manchester City are expected to add Swansea winger Scott Sinclair to their ranks.

The 23- year- old has rejected the opportunity to sign a new contract with the Swans, who rejected a £6.2 million offer for their player’s services onTuesday.

A restructured offer of £6.2m with add-ons, which could see the fee rise to more than £8m, has now been accepted, and Sinclair is holding talks over personal terms.

Dimitar Berbatov could seal his exit from Manchester United with a move to Fulham.

The Bulgarian striker was expected to discuss terms with Serie A outfit Fiorentina yesterday, but did not arrive at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Italian champions Juventus swooped to secure his services but were rebuffed as Berbatov declared his preference to remain in England and avoid uprooting his family.

The 31-year-old appears ready to reunite with Martin Jol, who was his manager at Tottenham.
