Chambers Music Bar has two sets from John Scullion this weekend starting with tonight from 6-10pm then tomorrow from 5-8pm. That’s followed by Miami Vince from 9pm.

On Sunday there’s an acoustic session with Lee, Steve and friends. That starts at 6pm. All are free entry.

Fife’s Little Buddha launch their new album The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon tonight with support from Vladimir, Mass Consensus and Shuggy. Tickets are £5 or it’s £3 on the door for members and students, £6 for everyone else.

Tomorrow there’s indie, rock and punk with The Blackbirds supported by Katy Bar the Door and The Korova. Entry is £3 for members and students, £5 for everyone else.

There’s driving rock riffs with jungle and blues influences from Wild Crow on Sunday. Support comes from The Detours, Emerald Sunday, Late Landing and The Rosettes. Entry is £3 for members and students, £5 for everyone else.

Next Wednesday it’s ska punk band The Hostiles with Bomb City 7, Maxwell’s Dead and Albert Shakespear­e. Admission is £3/5 on the door.

Duke’s Corner has Dundee-based quartet The High Fevers tonight playing classic R&B, Motown and 60s pop with a modern twist plus Disco Deviance DJs until 2.30am.

Tomorrow it’s stylish, female-fronted combo Modus bringing a wealth of mod pop soul tunes.

Luke and Friends spin soul, funk, disco and Jazz at Soul Cellar on Sunday until 2.30am.

The new Sunday Jazz Session continues this week from 12.30pm before the Sunday Folk Club at 6.30pm hosted by Kit Clark, Gregor Philp and Chris Marra.

The Glenfarg Folk Club has David Francey and Mark Westberg on Monday night. Scot’s-born Canadian David Francey is well recognised as one of today’s finest singer-songwriter­s and is accompanie­d by multiinstr­umentalist Mark Westberg. CTRL ALT DEFEAT returns to the Reading Rooms tonight after a four-month hiatus, celebratin­g the release of residents Clouds third Turbo EP, Consciousn­ess, which came out on Monday. New club night Crayon launches on Thursday with guest Point to C and residents playing assorted beats.

Rory Gallagher tribute Sinnerboy are at The Green Hotel in Kinross tonight, keeping the music of the late Irish blues-rock multiinstr­umentalist alive and well. Tickets are £14 and it starts at 9pm.

Tomorrow it’s former Mott the Hoople Hammond organist Verden Allen and his newly formed Softground. Doors open at 9pm and tickets are £18.

Beat Generator Live! has one of London’s original punk bands The Lurkers on Thursday supported by Crimedesk and Thorn in the Face MacGowan as well as a DJ set from Totally Wired DJs. Advance tickets are £8 and doors open at 8pm.

The official launch of Non-Zero’s tonight sees a stellar line up of bands from Dundee and beyond with headliners Davey Horne and support from Seams, The Sparrowhaw­k Orkestrel, Waiting on Jack and HelloVideo. Entry is free and doors open at 7.30pm.

Saturday’s free afternoon blues session comes from the Jamie Harper Band and that kicks off at 3pm.

From 8pm there’s ’60s rock and roll band The High Fevers playing classics from The Spencer Davis Group, Eddie Cochran, Elvis, The High Numbers and more. Pilgrims Carnival and The New Times provide support.

For a chance to unwind on Sunday there’s the fortnightl­y acoustic Sunday Session with Nathan Elias, Lewis Davie, Dan Hedge and Darren Campbell from 7pm.

Tickets for The Proclaimer­s Christmas gig at the Caird Hall on December 20 go on sale tomorrow from the city centre box office or ticketmast­er.com.

Some of Dundee’s best-known bands will be performing in Dundee City Square tomorrow at the city’s first anti-racism festival. The Love Music Hate Racism stage will kick off around 11am with Hanney’s energetic seven-piece band combining dirty electro beats, guitar riffs, thought provoking lyrics and rap to produce a unique sound the band themselves have labeled as “Hanney-Core”.

The afternoon will feature a tasty reggae set from Lefty and Friends, a sitar/tabla set from Polsitar and some Jewish folk music from Paul Spicker. Also starring are local faves The Twist, Bi Tilo, playing Traditiona­l West African Rhythms using a variety of African instrument­s such as Djembe, (lead drum) Dunduns, (bass drums) Serouba and the 21 stringed Kora; and a set from Kim Knight and Albert Williamson.

There will also be street theatre, performanc­e art, stalls, childrens’ art shack, free university seminars, a people’s picnic and more. Saturday promises fun for everyone to help celebrate Dundee’s proud tradition of inclusiven­ess and antifascis­m.
