Café’s monthy event to offer support for health carers

CARERS IN Kinross and the surroundin­g area are being encouraged to attend a special monthly event.

The Kinross Hub Café for Carers offers a relaxed social environmen­t to support people and develop personal interests.

The café regularly hosts guest speakers, including representa­tives of Alzheimer Scotland, occupation­al therapy and Enable Mobility and there have been sessions on complement­ary therapies, card making and glass painting.

There is also informatio­n stalls at each session for visitors to browse details of local services, groups and events, as well as plenty of time for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

The café is open to people of all ages at St Paul’s Church Hall, Kinross, on the first Monday of every month – except January 2013 when the session will be held on January 7 – between 10am and noon.

There is no need to book and there is ample parking and suitable access for wheelchair­s.

Signif icant upcoming dates include the Christmas Café on December 3 between 10am and noon with entertainm­ent by pupils from Kinross High School and a visit from Santa.

On January 7 the café kicks off the new year with healthly eating and exercise advice.
