Choir brings cheer for great cause
PERTH CHOIR Chansons aim to bring festive cheer in the surroundings of St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth, on Wednesday.
The choir will put on an evening’s entertainment in aid of Perth Autism Support (PAS).
Guest oboe soloist Geoffrey completes the line-up in a varied festive programme from Chansons which includes well-known traditional carols, seasonal songs, readings and some opportunities for the audience to join in.
Choir spokesman Craig Tomlinson said: “The annual Christmas concert is always a bit special for the choir.
“We’re always proud to help with charity work for worthy causes but it is particularly nice to see a good cause close to home benefit from our Christmas concert.”
This year the proceeds of the concert will go to PAS.
The charity was founded in November with the sole aim to provide quality autism-specific services for children aged under 16.
As part of the ticket price, wine, soft drinks and mince pies will be served in the cathedral’s chapter house during the interval and proceeds from the concert will be donated to PAS.
The event begins at 7.30pm. Tickets costing £12 for adults and £4 for children are available from choir members by emailing tickets@chansons.co.uk or phoning Bill Band on 01350 727806.
