SCOTLAND UNDER21 boss Billy Stark has handed f ive players their first call-ups for next month’s friendly clash with Hungary at Tannadice.

Highly-rated Dundee United defender John Souttar could make his bow for the under-21s at his home ground, while St Mirren pair Sean Kelly and John McGinn have also been named in the squad.

There are f irst call-ups too for Hibernian midfielder Sam Stanton and Craig Slater, of Kilmarnock, after their impressive seasons in the Scottish Premiership.

There was frustration for Celtic striker Tony Watt as he was left out for the third squad running, despite netting seven goals in his last six games for Belgian loan club SK Lierse.

The 2 0 - y e a r- o l d t we e t e d : “Thought it would be 3rd time lucky for Scotland squad #piedagain.”

Souttar will be joined in the squad by Arabs colleagues Ryan Gauld and Stuart Armstrong, who will skipper the side against the Hungarians.

This match will be Scotland’s last friendly match before their European Under- 21 Championship qualifier against Holland at St Mirren Park on Wednesday May 29.

The youngsters sit third in Group 3 after five games, six points adrift of leaders Slovakia, who have played a game more, and three behind the unbeaten Dutch, who have played one match fewer.

Stark will hope to see his men gain revenge for September’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Oranje in Nijmegen as they aim to snatch a play-off place for next summer’s finals in the Czech Republic.
