Adams ‘can’t wait’ for her next charity Ribbonwalk

-

LOOSE WOMEN star Kaye Adams is gearing up for the Scone Palace Pink Ribbonwalk on June 14 to help support those with breast cancer.

It will be one of five Ribbonwalks taking place in the UK in May and June.

“This will be my fourth Ribbonwalk and I can’t wait,” the Falkirk-born presenter said.

“In terms of promoting Breast Cancer Care and the work they do to support women with breast cancer, their family and friends, it’s very important, but I also love that it’s a walk.

“Yes, it has a serious message but underneath the headlines it’s a chance to make friends and listen to hundreds of different stories about people’s own experiences with breast cancer, what helped and the challenges they faced along the way.

“There’s a 20-mile and a 10-mile course. I’m doing 10 miles and I’m looking forward to getting the chance to chat about all sorts of stuff as we walk.

“It’s very sociable — it’s a whole bunch of people taking time out in the fabulous setting of the Perthshire countryside.”

Most of the walk is off the road and part of it takes in tranquil riverside trails and historic monuments.

She is hoping her friend and Loose Women colleague Nadia Sawalha will join her on the big day.

“She’s really keen to come so I hope it comes together. She’ll certainly keep me talking for the 10 miles,” Kaye added.

Registration for the event, which costs £30, is open now. Visit www. breastcancercare.org.uk/ walk or call 0870 145 0101.

Walkers will receive a T-shirt and training guide, and at the finish line will be treated to a well-earned massage, a post-walk meal and a medal.

They will be asked to raise £100 in sponsorship to help fund Breast Cancer Care’s specialist services which help people live with, through and beyond breast cancer.
