Mixed news for leaders

-

David Cameron is seen as out of touch and arrogant while Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg are weak and out of their depth, polling has found.

Ukip leader Nigel Farage is commonly viewed as standing up for Britain but voters also think he is “weird”.

All four party leaders are viewed as smug and voters believe they do not listen, according to the Populus study for BBC’s Daily Politics and the World at One programmes.

Overall, more voters (58%) said they trusted the Prime Minister and Chancellor George Osborne to manage the economy than the Labour leader and Ed Balls, who polled 42%.
