WORLD NUMBER one Rafael Nadal will face world numbertwoNovakDjokovic in the final of the Sony Open in Miami after both players progressed without playing a shot in yesterday’s semifinals.

Djokovic progressed after his semi-final opponent Kei Nishikori withdrew due to a groin injury before Nadal’s place in tomorrow’s showpiece was confirmed later in the day when his opponent Tomas Berdych pulled out due to gastroenteritis.

The 24-year-old Nishikori had beaten Roger Federer and David Ferrer on consecutive days to progress to the final four but was unable to recover from a groin problem.

The A TP World Tour confirmed Berdych would not play Nadal on its Twitter page last night.
