- WRIGHT RETURNS: Continued from page 56

“IT JUST shows that althoughwe’rerivalsonthe park, everyone gets on well away from the football,” saidWright.

“A few weeks ago Jackie McNamaraandIwerehaving a wee go at each other at Tannadice, but he and Darren Jackson were among the first to send me a message. Once you get away from the football normal service is resumed and I really appreciated everyone getting in touch.

“When I left the ward on Tuesday the doctors told me to take it easy, be careful not to do much physically and watch I don’t get caught up in things too much.

“My wife, Ann, is comfortable with it and I think she’s just glad to get me out of the house now.

“It’s important to get back into the swing of things, for my sanity as much as anything.

“I won’t over do it but I’m planning to be back on the training pitch towards the end of next week.”

The Northern Irishman admitted there was no way he could steer clear of the stadium.

“I listened to the St Mirren game on the radio and I found that a bit worse than looking at my tablet for the Hibs game.

“I want to thank the doctorsandnursesatPerth Royal Infirmary as well.

“They were great with me, they diagnosed what was wrong quickly and looked after me well.“

Wright added: “It’s obviously good that we’re already in the top six and the pressure is off.

“But from my point of view, if we hadn’t the recoverytimewouldjustbe the same.

“I wouldn’t be pushing it because you’re not doing yourself, the club or the team any good if you go against doctors’advice.

“But hopefully I’ll be back in the dugout before too long.”
