Memorial angling trophy

-

The Pitlochry Angling Club’s annual open night in Scotland’s Hotel included the presentation of club trophies by Rhona Smith.

Rhona had travelled from Skye to present the new Maurice Wilson Trophy she has donated to be awarded annually for the largest salmon caught in June on the Portnacraig Pitlochry beat by a club member.

The trophy is in memory of her late husband, Maurice Wilson, and was awarded to Brian Joseph for a fish of 17lb.

This was followed by a demonstration of the tying of trout flies by Peter McCallum.

The evening also raised £2,300 for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance and Pitlochry Senior Citizens’ Bus.
