Man in dock for aggressive behaviour after party

A ROADS worker who drunkenly abused his partner after they were guests at a birthday party has appeared in court.

Robert Sot admitted behaving an a threatening or abusive manner at an address in James Street, Perth, on November 11 last year.

The 36-year-old, who works for BEAR Scotland, repeatedly shouted and swore while acting in an aggressive manner.

Perth Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Sot had gone to the property with his partner to attend a party.

Depute f iscal Lisa Marshall said: “The accused left at 10pm, leaving the complainer and their son, who were staying there overnight.

“At 1am into the morning of November 3 the accused returned to the locus.

“He had been drinking and was very aggressive, shouting at the complainer,” she went on.

“The complainer and her friend were fearful that violence would follow.”

She added that Sot had called his partner a number of abusive names and refused to leave the property, leading the homeowner to call the police.

Solicitor Erica Watson, defending, said: “Mr Sot had consumed some alcohol and his recollection is not clear but he does admit acting in the manner described.”

She added that he was the sole breadwinner in the family.

Sheriff William Wood deferred sentence on Sot, of South Inch Place, Perth, for the preparation of background reports.
