Bus company in line for transport industry awards

A PERTH-BASED bus c o m p a ny has been nominated for top honours at the 2014 Scottish Transport Awards.

Two Stagecoach services are in the running for best bus service award, while a Fife driver has been shortliste­d in the frontline employee category.

The company has been nominated for the Taylink 99 service b e t we e n St Andrews and Dundee, and the X59 service, which links St Andrews Edinburgh.

East Scotland bus driver Barry Grice, who is based at the company’s Dunfermlin­e depot, will battle it out to take home the employee title.

The company is also a finalist in the excellence in travel informatio­n and marketing category.

Stagecoach regional director for Scotland Sam Greer said: “It’s very pleasing to be shortliste­d for these awards. Our employees across Scotland work very hard, both behind the scenes and in our frontline delivery of services, to make sure we provide good value, high quality, reliable bus services, as well as good customer service, for our passengers.

“It’s good to see the hard work of our staff being recognised through these shortliste­d nomination­s.”

The awards ceremony is in Glasgow on June 19.
