Dundee link with ship

-

“THIS HULK, pictured above, named Miss Antigua, was photographed at St. John’s, Antigua by a reader who is a ship enthusiast. “After returning home, he found that she was built at Goole in 1936 as Kestor, but between 1939 and 1958 she was the well-known Errol owned by the Dundee, Perth & London Shipping Co. Ltd.

“She often traded to places in Courier country then and after they sold her – later names under British ownership being Grouville, Berwyn Baron and Frederick Hughes.

“As Miss Antigua of St. John’s, she was reportedly laid up at Antigua in 1991 and deleted from official registry in 1995. The picture was taken on March 14 this year.”
