Offshore wind funding

The UK offshore wind sector was given a boost yesterday after the Edinburgh-based Green Investment Bank announced investment worth £460 million in two major projects.

The GIB said it was buying a 50% stake in the Westermost Rough windfarm off the coast of east Yorkshire, and a 10% stake in the Gwynt y Mor project — the largest under construction in Europe — off the coast of north Wales.
