Graham ready to cheer on Rovers

-

RAITH OLD boy Brian Graham has revealed that he will be backing Rovers in person at the Ramsdens Cup final at Easter Road on Sunday.

The striker, who is now playing for Dundee United, has a big game of his own 24 hours earlier when the Tangerines face champions Celtic but, once the dust has settled on that fixture, he will be heading to Edinburgh to cheer on some of his old pals against Rangers.

Graham said: “I have a couple of tickets for the final. I am really looking forward to it and hopefully the boys can get a result.

“I am still good mates with some of the lads at Raith like John Baird and Grant Anderson and it would be great if (manager) Grant Murray could bring that trophy home.

“At the start of the season Raith were flying high in the league.

“Obviously they got to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup as well.

“Maybe because they did so well in the cups, they then struggled a wee bit in the league but Grant has got them winning games again at the right time.

“They won at the weekend so they will be going into the final confident of beating Rangers.

“Raith definitely have the players capable of doing that, like Joe Cardle, John and Grant.

“They went to Easter Road in the Scottish Cup earlier this season and beat Hibs 3-2 so that is maybe a good omen and they can beat Rangers at the same venue.

“There should be a big support there and hopefully the boys can win the cup for them.

“Raith is a great club and I really enjoyed my two years there.”
