COWDENBEATH BOSS Jimmy Nicholl last night added another young player to his squad.

He clinched the signing of Portuguese striker Domingos Agostinho Silveirowhohadimpressed after a short trial with the Championship side.

The 22-year-old had been released by Conference North side Vauxhall Motors FC but, as he has been signed as an amateur outwith the transfer window, he will only be able to play for the Fifers in reserve matches until the end of this season.

Cowden are waiting on the fitness news of defender KennyAdamson, amid fears that his season could be over due to a broken foot.

The 25-year-old has been sent for an x-ray after his foot problem failed to respond to treatment.

Former Dundee United and Scotland defender Garry Kenneth is unlikely to play again for Brechin City due to a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old only joined the Glebe Park men in February and has played just three times.

Boss Ray McKinnon said: “Garry is still two or three weeks away from training and after that he will need a couple of weeks to get up to speed so it looks like he will not feature again under this contract.

“We have taken a few blows due to injury this season and this just adds to it.”
