Dundee CCS Stars have confirmed that ex-Fife Flyers and Braehead Clan winger Bobby Chaumont has agreed terms as player-assistant coach for the 2015-16 season.

Head coach Marc Lefebvre revealed the move yesterday and admitted he was delighted to welcome the player to the club.

He said: “We needed to add goals to our line-up and Bobby has had success in our conference and league doing that the past three seasons, averaging 30 goals over that period.

“Secondly, Bobby is also a good leader and after speaking to him several times about the direction and goals for our hockey club, it became clear that we want to strive for the same things so it was a perfect fit to have him as my assistant this season.

“I look forward to having him working alongside me to have a successful season in Dundee.”

Chaumont’s record in the Elite League stands at 262 points from 228 regular season games, and seven from 10 play-off games.

He said: “I am excited for this new opportunity and look forward to a great season.”

Fife Flyers meanwhile have announced the signing of forward Michael Dorr for next season.

The 26-year-old finished the 2013-14 season as second top scorer in the DEL2, with 32 goals for EC Bad Nauheim.

Dorr said: “I am extremely excited to be a Fife Flyer. This is a great opportunity for me and I am working hard in the off-season to put myself in position to have a successful year.

“I have heard nothing but great things about the fans and organisation and I’m looking forward to getting to Kirkcaldy and for the season to begin.”

Associate coach Danny Stewart said: “In Michael we are getting a guy that is a proven goalscorer.

“He took last season off to heal an ankle issue that required surgery but we are very confident he is back in form and will be fully fit for the season ahead.

“In Germany he scored a ton and that’s what we will be looking for from him.

“Two seasons ago he was placed second in the goalscoring league, ahead of a lot of great players that have had success in the UK and Europe.”
