Maternity unit to offer tours and family fun during open day

Perth Community Maternity Unit is holding a family open day next Saturday.

Families are invited to join staff at the event, where they will get the chance to take part in a range of activities including a tour around the unit, hypnosis for childbirth, face painting, afternoon tea and a variety of stalls. The event is taking place between 1.30pm and 4pm. More than 3,000 babies have been born in the unit since it opened a decade ago.

The event coincides with Breastfeeding Awareness Week and the presentation of the Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative Award, which the unit achieved in March.
