Historic club honours top pupils

-

Cortachy Castle was the setting for a celebration of excellence involving young people from Angus and Dundee.

On Saturday, the historical house hosted the annual awards presentation of the Edinburgh Angus Club, welcoming pupils, their families and staff from schools throughout the area.

The club was founded in 1840, and instituted in 1841 with the aim of ‘encouraging friendly intercourse among the members and the advancement of education in Angus’.

It now has more than 250 members and awards prizes based on outstanding academic and personal merit to senior pupils at Angus secondary schools, as well as Dundee High School and Harris, Morgan and Grove Academies.
