Levy payers to have their say

-

UK levy body organisation AHDB is taking to the road to find out what Scottish levy payers want from their levy bodies.

Chairman Sir Peter Kendall and board member George Lyon announced the plans at the Royal Highland Show.

Sir Peter said a reorganisation of the body’s senior management team was taking place to create five key section leaders: industry strategy, technical, communications and market development, finance and HR.

The body had also recently completed a rebrand. Mr Kendall said he did not know the final cost of the exercise, but the board previously agreed it would not cost more than £60,000.

All farmer levy bodies under the remit of AHDB have had their names changed. DairyCo has become AHDB Dairy, HGCA is now AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds, HDC is now AHDB Horticulture and the Potato Council has been renamed AHDB Potatoes.

The drive to find out what Scots levy payers wanted will be led by Mr Lyon.
