Brennauer holds on for victory
Germany’s Lisa Brennauer rode to victory in the Aviva Women’s Tour of Britain yesterday.
The Velocio-SRAM rider held her nerve on an attacking final day from Marlow to Hemel Hempstead.
The stage was won by Britain’s Hannah Barnes – Laura Trott was 25th – but it was Brennauer who took the top prize.
Jolien D’Hoore was second, with Christine Majerus third. Trott ended 17th overall with Barnes the highest-ranked Briton in fifth.
