Dundee’s past makes for a great future visit
Summer is finally here and the time is right to get out and about. And where better to explore than two of Dundee’s five-star visitor attractions?
Discovery Point and RRS Discovery tells the story of Dundee’s iconic ship, which was built to take Captain Robert Falcon Scott on his first voyage of exploration to Antarctica.
It features film shows, computer-based interactives, hands-on activities and there is also a chance to explore the ship itself.
Discovery Point is a must-see attraction if you are visiting Dundee.
Scotland’s Jute Museum @ Verdant Works is another fantastic place to visit for family fun.
It tells the story of the history of the jute industry and the effects it had on Dundee.
From the rattle and the roar of the machinery to the stories of the mill lassies, Scotland’s Jute Museum @ Verdant Works transports you back more than 100 years to an era when jute was king and Dundee was its realm.
Also, a new addition to Scotland’s Jute Museum @ Verdant Works and opening late Summer 2015 will be the High Mill @ Verdant Works, with amazing architectural features and a working Boulton & Watt Steam engine.
