Legal chief thanked for four decades of council service
Tribute has been paid to the retiring head of legal services at Perth and Kinross Council, Ian Innes, after a career in local government spanning more than 40 years.
Council leader Ian Miller took the opportunity to thank Mr Innes at a recent council meeting and said his retiral would mean “a loss of enormous experience” to the council.
It was in August 1974 that Mr Innes, a graduate of Aberdeen University, joined the local authority.
He occupied various posts over the years, including clerk to the licensing board, becoming head of legal services in 1995.
Following a presentation, Mr Innes said the job had been “always interesting, always challenging and always satisfying”.
