Warburton makes Wilson his first signing

-

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has made former Hearts captain Danny Wilson his first signing for the club.

The 23-year-old defender, who decided to leave Tynecastle after the Jambos beat Rangers to the Championship title last season, returns to Ibrox five years after joining Liverpool in a £2 million deal.

He joins on a three-year contract and will be introduced to the media today.

Meanwhile, talks are progessing with Wigan defender Rob Kiernan, who was pictured at Murray Park yesterday. Warburton is also looking to sign 35-year-old former Watford and Derby midfielder John Eustace – who had a loan spell with Dundee United in season 1998-99 – to guide what he hopes will be a predominantly youthful squad.
