SSE worth £8.8bn to UK

Utility giant SSE-contributed £8.8 billion to the economy in 2014/15 and-supported 106,000 jobs.

The figures, from a PwC report commissioned by the Perthbased energy firm, are equivalent to around 0.6% of GDP.

The report also found SSE was worth £1.47bn to the Scottish economy.
