Quest for More looks to benefit from draw

Single-figure post position adds to appeal of five-year-old which is impressing on longer trips

The five-year-old has been drawn in stall three in the two-mile heat, with recent history suggesting that a singlefigure post position is a necessity for a winning run.

Quest For More appeals as a horse who has only really found his feet since being stepped up to the longer trips, although he had enough toe to win over an extended mile back in 2013.

However, switching to distances of 12 furlongs and upwards has seen him win four times, including a decent success over a mile and six at Goodwood last month.

He was running off a career-high mark of 96 but he travelled well throughout the race before prevailing by half a length over the well-fancied favourite Oasis Fantasy.

A further 8lb hike for that success is hardly ideal but, given this will be only his third run over this trip, the handi- capper may not yet quite have his measure.

Five furlongs is perhaps a bit sharp for him, particularly as it was his first run of the year, so six, with a run under his belt, makes him hard to beat.

Seven furlongs appears to be the trip for and he is taken to shine in the John Sunley Memorial Criterion Stakes at Newmarket.
