Bosses face online backlash over ‘worst event ever seen’

-

Angry festival-goers flooded social media yesterday to blast organisers for their handling of the event.

Travel chaos, a lack of security and untrained staff were among the issues raised by revellers as the festival faced a slew of teething problems at its new Strathallan Castle site.

Major traffic delays that had plagued the festival all weekend continued yesterday morning as people tried to leave the site.

An online petition has already been set up to try to get the festival moved back to Balado, which has been backed by more than 5,000 people.

And revellers took to social media to offer up their honest opinions of the rebooted festival and the ongoing chaos.

Jill Gardiner said: “Traffic is a joke. Been stuck for three hours and still nowhere near the pick-up points.

“The stewards and police directing traffic would be as well staying in the house for all the good they are doing.”

Katie Meehan, 19, said: “A man got beaten by bottles, tents and belongings were stolen, drugs were getting sold and many more activities were going on.

“There were hardly any police and absolutely no one patrolling any of the campsites. Security was absolutely abysmal and virtually none existent.”

Peter Murray wrote: “Not only the worst festival, but the worst event I’ve ever seen. Understaffed, badly organised and downright dangerous.

“Between tickets, travel, food and drink my fiancée and I spent the better part of £400 for one day of hell.”

Lauren Boot posted: “Your festival is a disgrace. There is no control over anything, way too much underage drinking and drug taking. Sort. It. Out.”
