A man who was killed in a motorbike accident in north east Fife at the weekend has been named as Euan King from Auchtermuchty.

The 38-year-old had been riding a Yamaha motorcycle at around 11.25am on Sunday when it left the road and collided with a tree.

Police Scotland confirmed his identity yesterday.

Mr King, a former pupil of Bell Baxter High School in Cupar, worked for Perthbased Fair City Amusements.

He lived on High Street, Auchtermuchty, with his partner, cake-maker Lynne Duncan, 52. His parents and sister Melissa, 34, also live in the village. In a statement, his heartbroken family said: “Euan was a much loved partner, grandfather, son and grandson who will be sadly missed by all who knew and cared for him.

“We request that our privacy respected at this difficult time.”

People close to him have described Mr King as a lovely, genuine man who had a good sense of humour and always enjoyed a joke.

Responding to the news on Facebook, friend Lorna Black described him as an amazing friend and said: “RIP Euan. Going to miss you so much.

“One of the most genuine, nicest guys you could ever meet. “Always in my heart.” Amanda Stewart said: “RIP Euan. Remember all the fun times we used to have when we were younger.”

Extending her condolences to his family, Diane Russell said: “So hard to believe.”

The accident happened on the A91 between Collessie and Auchtermuchty and involved no other vehicle.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed it to contact them on 101.
