A match made in heaven for Perth
The possibility that there may at last – after 11 long years – be some light at the end of the tunnel for the future of Perth City Hall will be universally welcomed.
The inability to find a solution to what to do with the imposing building in the heart of the city has been a thorn in the side of the local authority and a major cause of frustration to the public.
Suggestions for markets, hotels and even student accommodation have all come and gone over the years while a vociferous campaign was mounted to save the building from demolition at all costs.
Now it appears that a possible solution may be on the horizon, a major cultural attraction housed in the halls.
As Perth bids to be UK City of Culture 2021, the “perfect marriage” could prove an astute match.
