The Lost Things
Lochgelly Centre, February 26-27; Perth Concert Hall, March 3
Aimed at anyone who’s nine years and older, The Lost Things bills itself as a dark fairytale about a boy lost in a fantastical world, where nothing is as it seems.
Things which have been lost include “car keys, wedding rings, dads and a mysterious girl”.
Commissioned by Edinburgh’s Imaginate Festival, this is a collaboration between the Tortoise in a Nutshell theatre company and writer and theatre-maker Oliver Emanuel, both of whom have a strong pedigree.
Tortoise in a Nutshell’s work with puppetry involves the award-winning Feral, which tells the story of a disintegrating society, and Grit, a shadowplay about a girl discovering her late war photographer father’s life.
Emanuel, meanwhile, wrote Dragon for the National Theatre of Scotland, the best show for children and young people at the 2014 UK Theatre Awards.
