Whataknight can have his day

-

WHATAKNIGHT found one too good at Doncaster but can redeem himself in the Watch Racing UK HD From Today Novices’ Hurdle at Exeter.

Third on his racecourse bow at Wincanton back in November, he then lifted a Taunton novice event in good style the following month, seeing off subsequent winner Rock On Oscar with the minimum of fuss.

Switched to handicap company by Harry Fry, Whataknight was beaten just a nose by Emerging Force and deserved plenty of credit as he not only went for home early but also lost valuable momentum with a mistake at the final flight.

The winner appeared particularly well handicapped and Whataknight is interesting back in novice company.

SONNY THE ONE is the pick in the Weatherbys Hamilton Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

He let down favourite-backers when a short price at Taunton but can be forgiven that run as his saddle slipped and his rider eventually finished the race without his irons.

DE VOUS A MOI is an eyecatching contender in the Clara’s Gallop Handicap Chase at Newcastle.

Sue Smith’s eight-year-old has not been seen out since winning at Wetherby in November, but he raced as though he had a bit in reserve and might be even better for a short break. SELECTIONS:
