Minister takes up Perthshire post

The Rev Mairi Perkins has been inducted as the new minister at Ardoch Parish Church of Scotland

Worship was conducted by the Very Rev Dr James Simpson and the sermon preached by the interim moderator, the Rev Iain Paton, before Ms Perkins was inducted by the moderator of Perth Presbytery, the Rev Alan Reid, making her the new minister of the linked parishes of Ardoch and Blackford. Ms Perkins was born and started her schooling in Inverness. She first trained to be a nurse and practised for many years as both a nurse manager, on an acute medical ward, and then as a nurse practitioner in a rural community.

However, after 15 years she trained as an ordained local minister.
