Calling 50s shoppers

-

Jack Searle has been in touch and is wondering if, once again, Craigie readers can provide him with information about shops in Dundee.

“I am looking for information about the following shops that were operating in Commercial Street in the mid 1950s,” he says

“The shops are No 9, David Carswell & Sons, grocer; 23, David Dickie & Sons ironmongers; 57, Peter McLean, tobacconist; 100/108, R. Buist & Sons upholsterers; 51, J. Fyfe Ogilvie, tea dealer; 91a, T. M. Sparks & Son, stationers; 78, James Morton & Sons, clothiers and 38, Fraser & Son picture framers.”

Please contact the Craigie column or , if you prefer, you get in touch with Jack direct by telephone at 01382 641316.”
