Experience no yolk

“A friend had a crisis with her hair just minutes before she was due to leave for a social evening,” writes a Craigie regular. “She had read somewhere that a raw egg was an excellent hair conditioner.

“She duly whipped up the egg, yolk and all, then applied it to her hair. Then her husband told her she had better hurry as they had only 20 minutes to go before departure.

“In her haste, she used hot water to rinse her hair, now saturated in raw egg. She dressed quickly, dried her hair and was about to comb it, when her husband said: ‘What’s that in your hair?’

“The raw egg had partially cooked when she applied the hot water and there were solid pieces of white and yellow scattered all over her head.”
