Perth skiers help Scots to top six finish in Italy

SCHOOLS: Strathalla­n pair competed against some of the world’s top racers

Two Perth skiers enjoyed success while representi­ng Scotland at a prestigiou­s internatio­nal competitio­n in Italy.

Scott Buchan and Lyle Ross, both 16-year-old pupils at Strathalla­n School, were selected to compete at the World Schools Ski Championsh­ips in L’Aquila.

Racing against 17 other nations, the Scots put up an impressive fight against some of the best young racers in the world, with the under-18 boys achieving sixth place overall, combining results in slalom and giant slalom.

Scotland also won the fair play award for team spirit and friendline­ss to all other nations.
