Fourth Scotland call for Jason

-

A young Perth table tennis player has secured Scottish selection at a fourth age group.

Jason Fleming, 18, who won the Perth men’s singles title recently, has been chosen to represent Scotland at the Six Nations event in Limerick in June as a result of finishing fourth in the Scottish Schools Championship.

This follows on from under-12, under-14 and under-16 appearances.

Pat Duffy, who has just won his 22nd veterans title, said: “I don’t know if it’s unique because Chris Wheeler of Falkirk might have done it, and Gavin Rumgay might have as well. But it is certainly unusual. It basically means he’s stayed in the top four in Scotland from primary school all the way through to secondary school.”
