-

Tayside Musketeers women are through to the semi-finals of the Scottish League play-offs and will host former champions Edinburgh Kool Kats at Grove Academy on Saturday at 12.30pm.

Home advantage in the one-off tie goes to the team with the higher league finish and Muskies will be hoping to repeat their victory when the capital side visited in their regular season clash.

Coach Donnie MacDonald was pleased with the way his side saw off the challenge of St Andrews University in the first round of the play-offs, beating Saints 72-54.

Yhana Van Wees had another big game, scoring 26 points, adding 14 rebounds, five steals and a massive five blocks, while Hannah Robb had a “double double” of 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Robb was also busy for the Arbroath High team in the Scottish Schools senior girls cup at the weekend, helping them reach the final with a 93-69 win over Culloden Academy.

Arbroath also reached the under-15 girls final, squeezing home 42-41 over Wallace High.

Muskies senior men lost 80-64 to new champions Boroughmuir Blaze, who now meet surprise semi-finalists Falkirk Fury.
