Taking the top job
Fiona Robertson said she was not daunted about taking the helm at Perth Grammar, which is one of just 17 state schools in Scotland to be recommended in the Good Schools Guide.
Before arriving at Perth Grammar, she was deputy head at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven for fiveand-a-half years.
She was a quality improvement officer for Aberdeenshire for three years and also worked at the Gordon Schools in Huntly.
The 36-year-old said she was encouraged to apply for the job by former head Barry Miller, who moved to Harris Academy in Dundee.
Miss Robertson said: “He spoke very highly of the school. Some teachers apply for any post, but for me, I was determined to find a school where I could see myself making an impact.”
