It also takes on a number of seasonal workers each Christmas.
However, the company, founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, has been accused of treating staff “like cattle”.
An American pastor Tim McKinney worked undercover at the depot and claimed he was appalled at the “fear and intimidation” he discovered.
However, Amazon said it provided “a safe and positive workplace” for its staff.
In February 2013 the GMB trade union held a demonstration outside the Dunfermline warehouse in protest at what it claims was the firm’s failure to pay proper taxes and a living wage of £7.45 an hour to its employees.
