Man sent video to victim’s family

-

A Fife man who coerced a woman into having repeated hotel sex liaisons with a man he found on the internet, made them film their meetings then sent the video to the victim’s family has been warned that his case will “almost inevitably have to be remitted to the High Court”.

Clive Weatherhogg set up a series of hotel sex sessions for the woman and a man over the course of a year.

He made a string of demands – including asking to be in the room tied to a chair while they had sex and telling the man to buy a male chastity device and have it sent to Weatherhogg for him to wear.

He then made the pair film their sessions when they refused to let him be in the room or live stream it over the internet.

Weatherhogg, Balmalcolm, Cupar, later sent a video to the victim’s family.

A sheriff at Dundee locked him up and said: “This case will almost inevitably have to be remitted to the High Court.”

The maximum sentence at sheriff court level is five years – so remitting the case would allow a longer jail term to be imposed.

Weatherhogg, 42, denied on indictment three charges under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act.

But a jury found him guilty of the charges.

Weatherhogg further admitted a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
