KENNOWAY. Morag Gibson presided. Craigrothi­e SWI entertaine­d with a craft demonstrat­ion, a game of Call My bluff, and a quiz. DUNKELD AND BIRNAM. The Rev Simpson gave a talk on the benefits of having a sense of humour to cope with all the problems in life.

MENMUIR. Rural ladies visited Forfar small bore rifle club, a trip that was postponed from January. The March meeting saw Jenny Tait of Sunrise Brechin demonstrat­e printing with carved blocks from India. Competitio­ns: shopping bag made from recycled materials – 1 Alison Paterson, 2 Wilma Warden, 3 Mary Anderson; flower of the month – 1 Joy Spence, 2 Jane Smith, 3 Alison Paterson.

BUTTERSTON­E. Jacqueline Edwards from Rosemount gave a talk about her time teaching in Hong Kong. Competitio­n: silk scarf – 1 Liz Bruges, 2 Sheila Bruges, 3 Fiona Bruges.

AIRLIE. Members were entertaine­d by Judith McVicar, who gave a talk on seasoning without salt.
